POCA is committed to making acupuncture as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. The 5 Needle Protocol (also commonly called 5NP, acudetox, or the NADA protocol) is a simple, safe, and effective ear acupuncture treatment that was created for non-acupuncturists to use in treating addiction, trauma, and behavioral health. Building off the legacy of those who developed and championed this treatment for decades, including the Young Lords, the Black Panther Party, Lincoln Detox, and the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, we have created a training program to enable as many people as possible to become Auricular Acu-Technicians (AATs) and use this treatment in their work and communities.
Become an Auricular Acu-Technician (AAT)
None scheduled at this time.
Previous trainings have been held in Milwaukee WI, Providence RI, Tucson AZ, and Puerto Rico.
If you are a licensed acupuncturist or certified acu-detox specialist, you can become an AAT (and start the process of becoming a trainer) by attending an in-person training OR completing this online CEU Course.

Note: Completing a training does not guarantee that the trainee will be able to legally practice auricular acupuncture or the 5NP in trainee’s state of residence. To research your own state’s regulations, use this link.
Many states have laws that include NADA or an equivalent training. We have structured our program to meet/exceed those approved standards, and POCA is not in the position to take the responsibility for making sure that this program will be approved by various states across the board.
