Annual BOD and GC Meeting

We’re always looking for ways to make sure everyone in POCA has a voice. The blogs, the forums, working in circles, Welcome Wagon, feedback from the website, open meetings of Board of Directors (BOD) and General Circle (GC), POCAfest, and POCA TV are all attempts to have more members communicate with more members.
Our co-op is a geographically and economically rich multiverse, with the capacity to innovate in ways no one else has yet thought of, and we strive to keep moving “where no acupuncture has gone before”.
Here’s our latest (but not only) idea of how to introduce more people to the leadership processes we have developed to move POCA forward. POCA’s BOD and GC are comprised of volunteer members who, like you, are committed to bringing POCA’s mission to life. In only three short years POCA has become possibly the largest and most influential agent of change in the acupuncture world. You, and these folks, are the ways and means of that progress. Without thousands of volunteer work-hours, POCA would not be still growing, still vibrant, still facilitating new clinics serving more patients in more places, still extending the limits of what is possible.
Since these video meetings were made, much has happened – mainly, POCA Tech, our innovative and affordable acupuncture school, has accepted students and is open for business. We are so proud of this accomplishment, and you should be too. Your participation, even if all you did was join POCA, gave POCA, and POCA Tech, a life. Acupuncture truly CAN change the world.

Conference Keynote: Breaking the Ceiling

The theme for this conference is “Breaking Barriers”. You know, there are so many barriers to break in acupuncture that it was really hard to choose which ones to talk about for this speech. But since I’ve spent so much time talking about classism as a barrier, I thought it might be fun to shift gears a little and talk about numbers.
