CAN Video Available for Distribution!
Have you ever struggled to explain what it is that we CAN’ers do?
“You do what? What do you mean, “sliding scale”?? Why the group setting? Is this even legitimate???”
Especially in the beginning months of opening a new community acupuncture clinic, many of us have had to post pictures of empty clinics on our websites, tried to convey what a community experience feels like, wished for testimonials from patients. Critical as they are to promoting our endeavors, these elements are lacking (for most of us) in the infancy of our clinics.
Well comrades, CAN would like to help with that. Our friend (Jackie Cutler at Media Awakenings*) has created a short video to help describe what the Community Acupuncture Network and CAN clinics are all about. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEsHXG4yuvs
Please use this commercial to help promote CAN and your clinic. You have permission to embed or link to this YouTube video on your clinic’s website, on your Facebook page, on your Twitter account, in your e-newsletter…wherever you think it would help you.
Yes, for free.
The more you share this video—with your patients, friends, family, neighbors–and the more that they all share it around, the more likely it is to “go viral.” What does “viral” mean? It means it’s possible that national news outlets could catch wind of this video and choose to run a first-of-its-kind spotlight on CAN.
- Media attention for CAN would help get the word to prospective acupuncturists, acupuncture students, and private room acupuncturists who have not yet heard about us, which in turn could steer them here to learn how they can create Community Acupuncture clinics in their own cities.
- Media attention for CAN would help the people in each of our communities to learn how we can alleviate their suffering.
- Media attention for CAN would help all of us to attract more patients to each of our individual clinics.
So please pass this video along, and encourage others to do the same.

What a fabulous acu-infomercial!!! Thank you for creating such a wonderful tool for spreading the word about what we do!!!
Thank you SO MUCH
to Jackie, Jessica and Fred for making this happen; and to Kara and Thomas, and all of the patients of The Turning Point and SUFI Acupuncture for sharing your experiences. What a beautiful gift to the movement.
Fantastic!
Thanks you so much. The video is wonderful!
Neat
Good production values and it tells a good story. I have to admit though I really enjoy the voyeuristic look into other clinics, you’ve got a nice space.
I’ll pop a link to this as soon as I get my new site finished, thanks a bunch

volume problems??
I love the video and posted it on the Israeli community acupuncture facebook page.
Are we the only ones experiencing volume problems? The music is ok but all the speakers are barely heard.

(Cheers for the great work! and volume problem).
Volume
Yes, the volume was a bit problematic. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize it until the editing stage, and by then it was too late to go back and refilm everything with direct mikes. I find that if I plug an earpiece into my laptap, I can hear the interviews much better.
On a different note, she filmed the whole thing in HD…
no matter Jessica…
it is a lovely video that is going out ASAP…thank you for your amazing work.
