Participate in the CAN May Day Celebration: Build Community and Market Your Clinic!
So I hope everyone’s heard of the CAN May Day Celebration. Clinics can participate by offering Free Acupuncture on Saturday May 1st to everyone!
Much thanks to Jessica, the May Day Committee, the CAN Board for organizing this. There’s page on the CAN website to
promote community acupuncture clinics which are offering free
acupuncture on Saturday, May 1st. There are currently 50 community
acupuncture clinics listed.
I just want to talk a little about my experiences with Free Days and how much I love them. I know everyone’s experiences are varied, but Free Days have been a great way for me to both Market my little clinic and build community.
People will come with their family members and friends (who might have been a little hesitant to try it out). It’s a little different from the regular clinic days. It’s busy and crazy and people are talking and laughing. I keep it pretty open and take walk-ins and treat as many patients as I possibly can then book the people who couldn’t get in for a free treatment later in the week. But I really love it. People I don’t know tell me how much they appreciate me being there and doing this. I really feel like a part of the community.
People will ask me well what’s your ROI (Return on investment for this event)? Well, mine’s decent because the key for me is to talk to patients that day about the importance of continued treatment and book them for an appointment later in the week. Communication is really the key to success on a Free Day!
Even if people come in to just try it out and don’t have any real problems. These are the people that will be your Word Of Mouth. They’ll send their friends and family who have backaches, headaches, and neck pain, because they’ve tried it out and well…it didn’t hurt and it was super relaxing (I always do the relaxing needles on the people who “don’t have anything wrong”).
The event creates the Buzz to get people talking about you. So new patients will call you in the next few weeks even if they weren’t able to attend the event on that day since they’ve heard about you.
So I hope everyone takes this opportunity and celebrates May Day together. Tries it out. You don’t have to do it all day. Sometimes I just do it for 2 hours because it gets crazy. But get the word out with the flyers, post it on all the local event calenders, send the press releases out to everyone and anyone and have lots of fun! 🙂
Just post to this thread to sign-up to participate!
Thank you Jade,
for taking time amidst your own busy schedule to plug May Day! Your enthusiasm is infectious. We’re fortunate to have you…
