So I went to a networking meeting this morning. We talked about collision. And I thought I am so lucky to be a part of POCA and to go to POCAfests, because I've experienced moments of incredible creative inspiration at POCAfests “Inspiration bursts forth from “collision points” – moments when different ideas, perspectives and knowledge collide and create something new in the universe. When people can link unrelated concepts and ideas, they inspire and unleash fresh ideas into the world.” It's that moment in a break out session or just one on one conversations with people at POCAfest. Where you talk about incredible things. And you go “*&^%& did I just say that?!”. It sure didn't come from me. It didn't exist in me before this moment. But it's like two rocks coming together and making a spark. It is in the coming together that beautiful ideas and projects are created. And the sparks themselves transform the speakers. They help them realize that their bigger, broader, more loving, and more creative than they knew. POCAfests transform me because they are like our clinics. They have this incredible feeling of space and acceptance. And through our conversations with each other we transform each other and the world around us. I love you POCA! Comment with your experiences of POCAfest transforming you :)!
The theme for this conference is “Breaking Barriers”. You know, there are so many barriers to break in acupuncture that it was really hard to choose which ones to talk about for this speech. But since I’ve spent so much time talking about classism as a barrier, I thought it might be fun to shift gears a little and talk about numbers.
