You Never Give Me Your Money
I remember Lisa saying one time that an acupuncturist somtimes needs to have creative approaches to coming up with treatment plans for difficult cases. She encouraged us to have a creative outlet, consequently I decided to pick the guitar back up again.I started playing in 2007 and put it down while I was getting the clinic up and running. In June I started playing again and got out my Bealtes Complete Easy Guitar book and started playing songs such as Norwegian Wood, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, and You Never Give Me Your Money (from Abbey Road).
This has made me a much happier and less stressed out person.Sometimes I come home after a day at the clinic and after dinner I play and sing Beatles songs all night!I was visiting a friend two nights ago and I played and sang to her while she was cooking dinner, she joined in on the singing for When I’m Sixyfour.I am thinking about taking some guitar lessons and would love to get good enough to play a few songs at a party.
I am starting to develop some callouses on my left fingertips so I mainly take the pulse with my right hand these days.Anyway thanks for the suggestion Lisa, I get by with a little help from my friends!
Wow. I never stuck with the guitar
but I paint watercolors. I totally agree that having a creative hobby is wonderful for stress reduction and making me a happier woman!
A creative outlet is very helpful, I agree.
Haven’t played the gtr. in a while, tho’.
You wrote about playing Beatles songs. I’ve been listening to tracks from “Revolver” the past week in the office (after the last patients had left) and these lyrics from “I’m Only Sleeping” just struck me today:
“Everybody seems to think I’m lazy. I don’t mind, I think they’re crazy — running everywhere at such a speed, ’till they find there’s no need.”
